## Tips for renting passenger vans

### Check the driver's license rules

Standard passenger vans can be driven on a normal license, but some suppliers set a higher minimum age (often 25) for 15-passenger models. Confirm at booking.

### Mind the height in garages

High-roof vans don't fit some Manhattan parking garages. Plan parking ahead or base the van outside the city core.

## Passenger Van rental FAQs

### Do I need a special license to rent a 15-passenger van in New York?

No — a standard driver's license is sufficient for passenger vans. Some suppliers do require drivers to be 25+ for 15-passenger models, so check the age policy when you book.

### What's the difference between a 12 and 15 passenger van?

Seating and length, mainly. A 15-passenger van adds a row and is longer, which affects parking and maneuverability in the city. For 10 or fewer, a 12-passenger van is easier to handle.
